It is a parrot species belonging to the Psittacidae family. The Iskender Parrot, one of the two parrot species found in Turkey, is endangered. Apart from Turkey, this parrot species, which is seen primarily in Asian countries, is also seen in Pakistan, Afghanistan and India.
